Lockerby

Lockerby –#161 in Alberta Discover Guide - 24.5 km from Red Deer

This is a 319-acre natural area. To access from Red Deer travel east on highway 595 until Highway 816 and go south there will be a small parking-lot on the right-hand side of the road. *do not block the gate. This area may have cattle present. There are a number of pathways throughout this site. The forested areas consist of mainly trembling aspen with scattered paper birch patches. This natural area consists of many small wetlands and a grassland area. Animals that frequent the area include white-tail deer, moose, waterfowl, northern pocket gopher, coyote, and a variety of song birds.
