This pond is in Red Deer. From Taylor Drive travel W on 43 St to Cronquist Drive, then N into Heritage Ranch. Access to the pond from Heritage Ranch is via a foot/bicycle path. ACA annually stocks this pond with trout, typically before the May long weekend.

This 150-acre site is located approximately 17 km southeast of Red Deer. Take Hwy 2 south, and travel 4.8 km east on Hwy 42, then south on RR 271 for 3.2 km and east on Twp Rd 364 for 1.6 km. The site consists of a large south-facing slope and topography that creates strong updrafts that are ideal for observing soaring raptors. Tree Canada planted 70,000 aspen and 30,000 white spruce trees at this site. Wildlife found in the area includes white-tailed and mule deer, grouse, and waterfowl. This site also offers saskatoon and chokecherry picking opportunities

This a 480-acre natural area. To access the site travel east out of Red Deer on Highway 595, and south on Range Road 260 until the very end of the gravel road. This area has an old road pathway through it. This is a heavily treed area that offers a variety of habitat for forest birds, mule and white-tailed deer, moose, porcupine, red and flying squirrels, and waterfowl in the ponded areas. There is plenty to see in this area, be mindful of the adjacent private property.

To access from Red Deer travel east on highway 595 until Highway 816 and go south there will be a small parking-lot on the right-hand side of the road. *do not block the gate. This area may have cattle present. There are a number of pathways throughout this site. The forested areas consist of mainly trembling aspen with scattered paper birch patches. This natural area consists of many small wetlands and a grassland area. Animals that frequent the area include white-tail deer, moose, waterfowl, northern pocket gopher, coyote, and a variety of song birds.

This is part of an extensive network created by TransCanada Trail a non-profit organization and a registered charity. To access from Red Deer go north on Highway 2A turn heading west on Township Road 400 (Lakeside/Sargent Road) west. It goes in-between Blackfalds and Lacombe being approximately 8 km in length. It goes around Lacombe Lake where there are a variety of waterfowl species and goes past Kuhnen Park.
