Zimmer (70.2 km)

This 60-acre site, about 3 km east of Bashaw, includes a mix of wetlands, grasslands, and bush habitats. Wildlife in the area includes white-tailed and mule deer, along with various waterfowl. A short distance away, Sittingstone Lake is a public wildlife area also located 3 km east of Bashaw on Highway 53. Once a landfill that closed permanently in 1999, the site is now part of the Bashaw Landfill Rehabilitation Project. Visitors can enjoy mowed trails and a small lake, making it a great spot for wildlife viewing and casual outdoor recreation. For more details, call or text 403-896-9687.

Access: The site is 4.8 km east of Bashaw, then 1 km north of Range Road 211, on the west side.
