Veteran (29.4 km)

This 159-acre site consists mostly of mature aspen forest with open grasslands and game trails through wooded areas, making it easy to navigate. Several wetlands provide habitat for waterfowl like the Blue-winged Teal, Mallard, and Common Goldeneye, while songbirds such as the Yellow-rumped Warbler, Clay-colored Sparrow, and Tree Swallow are commonly seen. The site is home to a variety of wildlife, including moose, deer, porcupines, striped skunks, wood frogs, and northern pocket gophers. The plant life includes Trembling Aspen, Balsam Poplar, Wild Rose, Chokecherry, Goldenrod, Meadow Rue, and Bunchberry, with wetlands and grasslands adding species like Sweet Clover and Goldenbean to the mix.

Access: From Innisfail, travel east on Highway 590 for 26 km. Turn left onto Range Road 260 and then right onto Township Road 360. In 2.1 km, the destination is on your left.
