Trenville Park (76.9 km)

Trenville Park, managed by Danny and Shannon Claes, is a family-friendly campground on the banks of the Red Deer River about 45 minutes north‑east of Elnora in Central Alberta, offering 74 secluded un‑serviced campsites surrounded by mature balsam poplar forest as well as two group areas and tenting zones for larger gatherings. Each site includes a picnic table and fire pit, and the park also features three playgrounds for children, flush toilets, and coin‑operated showers open daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with potable water available throughout the grounds. Visitors can purchase firewood on‑site, grab bagged ice or novelty treats from the campground store, and even participate in a take‑one, leave‑one book exchange for leisurely reading. The park is wheelchair‑accessible, ensuring all guests can enjoy its amenities and serene river valley setting. Outdoor enthusiasts can fish, canoe, kayak, or float on the Red Deer River, while birdwatchers can spot species such as the American White Pelican, Turkey Vulture, Veery, and various migrating warblers. Recreational facilities include horseshoe pits and a network of nature trails.

Access: from the junction of Highway 21 and Highway 590, travel east on Highway 590 for 13 km, north on Range Road 222 for 5.6 km, then east on Township Road 361A for 4 km  Note that there is no cell service in the valley (though a pay phone is available by the office).
