Strubel Lake (95.9 km)
Strubel Lake is a 67-acre waterbody located 30 km south of Rocky Mountain House, near Cow Lake. With a maximum depth of 13 meters, this lake is regularly stocked with rainbow trout, making it a popular fishing destination. Yellow perch have also been reported in the lake. This recreation area is well-suited for families and beginner ice fishers. The site also features a large parking area, washrooms, and a good dock and launch for kayaks and canoes. Beyond fishing, Strubel Lake provides excellent opportunities for birdwatching. Visitors may spot belted kingfishers, Lincoln’s sparrows, alder flycatchers, and great blue herons.
Access: Head south from Rocky Mountain House on Highway 22, then turn right toward Caroline. Turn right onto Township Road 380, left onto Range Road 75, then right onto Township Road 374. The site is 1.4 km ahead on the right.
