Krause H (87.2 km)
This 156-acre site, located about 12 km southwest of Bittern Lake, has largely been converted to grassland and open farmland, with remaining upland, riparian, and wetland habitats. The area is primarily open, with some poplar and aspen groves. While many wetlands are dry, one on the south side remains wet. The site supports bird species such as the American Robin, Red-tailed Hawk, Clay-colored Sparrow, and Song Sparrow, along with wildlife including coyotes and foxes. Vegetation includes balsam poplar, trembling aspen, cattails, and buckbrush. The site is easily accessible south of the Eikerman Conservation Area, with parking available along the ditch or in an approach.
Access: Travel south on Highway 220, then head west across the Battle River and continue south on Highway 221 for 3.2 km. Turn west onto Township Road 460 and proceed for another 3.2 km. The property will be on your right, with a four-acre subdivision removed from the total.
