Hilwill is a 175-acre site located about 10 km northwest of Bashaw, mostly converted to grassland, with a patch of approximately 20 acres of natural woodland remaining in the northwest corner. The area provides habitat for wildlife such as moose, deer, and a variety of birds, including waterfowl that use the ponds and wetlands in summer. Native plants include wildflowers, shrubs, and aspen and poplar trees. Livestock may graze on the property during summer. For more information, call 403-352-9395.
Access: From Bashaw, head east on Highway 53, then north on Range Road 210. The site will be on your left after 9.3 km.
