H.G. Lawrence (43.1 km)
Located about 30 km east of Penhold, the 114-acre H.G. Lawrence Property is currently closed to the public due to an ongoing reforestation project. The site features hilly pasture, small aspen groves, wetlands, and a creek that flows toward Pine Lake, which forms the eastern boundary. Common bird species include House Wrens, American Robins, and Clay-colored Sparrows. The property also supports trembling aspen, white spruce, balsam poplar, and various shrubs. Wildlife in the area includes mule deer, white-tailed deer, moose, small mammals, waterfowl, and raptors.
Access: From Ghost Pine General Store, head 1.6 km east on Highway 42, then turn south onto Highway 816 for 1.4 km. Turn east towards Pine Lake Christian Camp Association and drive 0.8 km to the destination on your right, marked by signage. Park on the south side of the road.
