Hetchler (38.3 km)
Located southwest of Delburne, this 140-acre site features a mix of young and mature aspen stands, along with a central wetland linked to other nearby wetlands. The east portion of the site includes a homestead by a large waterbody. Grassland marshes surrounded by willows create important habitat for species such as the Nelson’s Sparrow. The area is generally accessible, though navigating around the wetlands can be challenging. Notable bird species in the area include the Bufflehead, Ruddy Duck, Pied-billed Grebe, Sora, Solitary Sandpiper, Great Blue Heron, and Tree Swallow.
Access: To reach the property, head south from Delburne on Highway 21 for 1.6 km, then turn right onto Township Road 372. After 1.6 km, you'll reach the northeast corner, with parking available on the north and east sides. There is an acreage in the northeast corner.
