Dodd's Lake (32 km)

Dodd’s Lake is a municipal waterbody located at 55 Avenue Crescent in Innisfail, where visitors can enjoy fishing, canoeing or kayaking, taking a stroll on the short board walk and picnicking along its 1,785-foot shoreline. The area includes a mix of grassland and balsam poplar trees and is home to species like rainbow trout and Prussian carp. While amenities are limited to a basic boat launch with a dock and small gravel parking lot, a portable toilet is on site and restrooms and water are available nearby in town. There is also a self-serve kayak and stand-up paddle board rental available for visitors to enjoy paddling on the lake. In addition to a variety of waterfowl including Lesser Scaup, Blue-winged Teal, and Bufflehead, birdwatchers might spot Purple Martin, Tree Swallow, Eastern Kingbird, Goldfinch, Northern House Wren, American Coot and Red-necked Grebe, among many others.

Access: Starting from the Innisfail overpass—where Highway 2 crosses Highway 590—you’ll travel east on Highway 590 (locally known as Lakewood Drive) to 56 Street, head north on 56 Street, then turn onto 55 Avenue Crescent and follow it to the main lakeside parking area at Dodd’s Lake.
