Anne Pope (35 km)

Anne Pope Natural Area is a 160-acre conservation site, accessible through Lockerby. It includes wetlands, aspen forest, grasslands, and upland shrubs, and supports wildlife such as the Red-necked Grebe, Wilson’s Snipe, and Rose-breasted Grosbeak. Cattle may graze here occasionally, but overall activity is limited. The area is important for waterfowl, amphibians, and large mammals, with no formal trails, only game paths for access.

Access: From Ghost Pine General Store, head west on Highway 42. Turn right into the Boote property approach, then head north along the fence on Range Road 254 for 0.6 km to reach the property, which lies along the east side on an undeveloped road allowance.
